About this Course

This course is developed for architects and other industry professionals with a non-MEP background. In this course, we will review important HVAC definitions and concepts and learn more about the refrigeration cycle, including the primary components of HVAC equipment and systems.

Learning Objective 1:

Understand and identify important HVAC definitions and concepts, as well as define and identity basic components of HVAC systems.

Learning Objective 2:

What is the refrigeration cycle and why is it so important?

Learning Objective 3:

Distinguish a commercial HVAC system and equipment and differentiate the major system categories.

Learning Objective 4:

Review who is responsible for what, when it comes to HVAC systems. For example, what are the landlord’s responsibilities and what are the tenant’s responsibilities?
