NATIONAL REPORT—The Golden State has welcomed three new properties, including the first Yotel on the West Coast.

Yotel Opens First West Coast Hotel

After years of working through city approvals and construction hurdles due to the building’s historic past, the brand new Yotel San Francisco opened its doors to guests recently.

Designed by BAR Architects, the hotel has 203 unique guestrooms. The hotel also includes a 24-hour fully-equipped gym, an open-air rooftop terrace with 360-degree views of San Francisco, and Alta, a restaurant curated by Michelin star chef Daniel Patterson. With a focus on efficiency and the goal of saving time for its guests, the tech-forward hotel went away from a traditional front desk in the lobby, and instead installed several check-in and out kiosks to help keep its on-the-go business travelers from waiting.

Cumming, an international project management and cost consultancy, provided construction services throughout the development, helping to successfully navigate the unique design and construction challenges associated with converting a property with such storied charm.

Yotel San Francisco is owned by a joint-venture between Synapse Development Group (SDG), Aqarat (Kuwait Real Estate Company) and GreenOak Real Estate.
