Cumming Group EMEA, alongside St Modwen Logistics has begun construction on the sustainable warehouse for DHL at St Modwen Park, Gatwick.

The current phase spans c.115,000 sq ft to complete a total development of 280,000 sq ft and is being built to ‘Excellent’ BREEAM standards. DHL has occupied 64,000 sq ft of the park since 2021 and has pre-let the new warehouse on a 15-year lease.

With sustainability at its core, the site demonstrates how an increasing number of businesses are striving for ESG excellence and using responsible construction methods to help them reach their sustainability targets. This site could also create up to 150 jobs, helping support the growth of the local community.

Matt Watkins, Associate Director at Cumming Group EMEA commented ‘For a project in such a prime location, it really does champion sustainability. It’s great to continue working with St. Modwen Logistics and play a part in setting the standard for warehouses to come.’

The site will also incorporate a significant landscaping scheme, including the addition of a community park, which will result in a biodiversity net gain of 39%, as well as creating attractive amenity areas for both local communities and DHL staff, including a trim trail, cycle path and outdoor gym equipment.

St. Modwen Park Gatwick is located 3km from Gatwick Airport alongside Junction 10 of the M23, providing excellent national and international distribution links and easy access to a large local workforce.

Cumming Group EMEA is delivering 1.3 million sq ft of Industrial and Logistics schemes with a planning pipeline of over 6 million sq ft throughout the UK.
