HONOLULU – (April 7, 2015) – Cumming, an international project management and cost consulting firm, announced the successful completion of the Prince Jonah Kuhio Kalanianaole Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse, Hyatt Ka’anapali Beach Residence Club and Hyatt Regency Resort & Spa Maui. Cumming also more than doubled the number of its local team members in the past year, as the construction and development market continues to gain momentum, and will continue to focus on its strategic growth in Hawaii throughout 2015.

The first of these completed projects is the 930,000 square foot Prince Jonah Kuhio Kalanianaole Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse in Honolulu, which underwent extensive renovations and modernizations. The project was partially financed by $121 million in funding made available to the General Services Administration through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. The outdated Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse underwent the replacement of the core mechanical, fire-safety, and plumbing systems, as well as major electrical and cooling upgrades.

The second major project completion was the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort & Spa, which recently underwent a multi-year renovation. Providing construction project management services, Cumming oversaw the large-scale hotel renovation for the sprawling resort which included the modernization of the property’s guestrooms, suites, onsite restaurants and bars, in addition to design and beatification updates to the lobby and public spaces. The Hyatt Regency also incorporated sustainability upgrades, resulting in LEED Silver certification.

Adjacent to the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort & Spa, Cumming also completed the oceanfront Hyatt Ka’anapali Beach. The firm provided project management services for the complex Residence Club project, which comprised of a new 12-story tower consisting of 131 luxury timeshare units. In addition to the units, the development included a sales center, site amenities, and infrastructure improvements.
