SAN DIEGO – (April 29, 2014) – Cumming, an international project management and cost consulting firm, announced today that Managing Principal, Lisa Sachs, was appointed by the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) to serve as its Applied Science Commissioner, responsible to the independent ABET accreditation organization for construction management programs, worldwide.
CMAA has recently become a member of ABET, a nonprofit organization that accredits college and university programs in the disciplines of applied science, computing, engineering, and engineering technology, and is leading the initiative to create a new accreditation for undergraduate construction management programs.
With Lisa Sachs’ guidance, the CMAA and ABET partnership will assure that college and university programs meet the industry’s high standards and prepare students seeking a career in construction management.

Her vast experience includes leadership roles on the Los Angeles Unified School District and Los Angeles Community College District programs, two of the largest school bond programs in the United States.
