Construction consultancy RGM Kramer Inc. (RGMK) is merging with international project management and construction cost consultants Cumming Group. Terms were not disclosed for deal finalized on November 10 and announced on Thursday.

RGMK is an education specialist and has worked with over 60 Northern California public school districts in the planning, design, and construction of public schools, community colleges, and public facilities projects. The Concord-based company has more than 75 employees and offices in San Jose, Redwood City, and Santa Rosa.

“We could not be more excited to welcome RGMK,” said Derek Hutchison, Cumming Group president and CEO. “Their unmatched reputation and expertise will allow us to provide even greater client support to our educational clients.”

RGMK was formed in 2019 as the result of a merger between Kramer Project Development Company and RGM & Associates. It joins a growing list of companies under the Cumming Group umbrella.

The merger will see RGMK continue to operate under its current leadership, while retaining the RGMK brand for the “near future,” according to a Cumming spokesperson.

“Our team’s hands-on approach and deep understanding of the construction nuances required to successfully deliver complex public school projects aligns well with Cumming’s team of educational experts,” said RGMK president, Rick Kramer.

Since forming in 1996, Cumming has grown to more than 1,500 employees across 52 offices in North America and Europe. Its work includes projects in the commercial, hospitality, retail, entertainment, education, health care and high-end residential sectors.

“Cumming is laser-focused on continuing our diversification strategy by growing our K-12 portfolio and expanding our geographic footprint of sector advisors,” Hutchinson said.
