Cost Approaches in the US and UK (1 LU)

About this Course

In this course, we discuss the differences between the US model for cost estimating and the UK model for quantity surveying. After providing insight into the history and training approaches of the different models, we will discuss how they can both be utilized for your projects and clients.

Learning Objective 1:

Describe the history of the US cost estimating model and how estimators are trained, and how that differs from the UK quantity surveying model.

Learning Objective 2:

Compare advantages and disadvantages of each model.

Learn how to use this data to identify the right approach for your project
