LOS ANGELES, CA (February 28, 2012) Cumming, a national project management and cost consulting firm, has promoted Anthony Sanchez to Vice President, Project Management. In this role, Anthony will be responsible for managing capital improvement projects and programs throughout California. As Vice President, Anthony will oversee operations for the majority of Cumming’s education and municipal project management assignments, ensure that clients receive superior services from the company’s Project Management team, and play a key role in driving the organization’s growth throughout the state.

Anthony has been with Cumming for 11 years. Initially serving as a Regional Director and Senior Project Manager on Los Angeles Unified School District’s $14 billion capital improvement program, Anthony has received numerous promotions over the years both as a consultant for clients and as a leader at Cumming. Prior to his new role as Vice President, Anthony served as Regional Director at Cumming with primary responsibility for K-12, higher education, and municipal work throughout Southern California.

Anthony has nearly 25 years of experience in the industry. His background includes program, project, and construction management, as well as design and development management for a broad range of project types including K-12 and higher education, municipal, retail and commercial, and healthcare.

Anthony has personally managed several award-winning projects throughout his career. Recent examples include the new 52,000-sq.-ft. Arcadia police facility, which received a project achievement award from the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA), and Los Angeles Unified School District’s new 73,000-sq.-ft. Elementary School #7, which received honorable mention from CMAA in 2011.

During his seven years serving Los Angeles Unified School District on various programs, Anthony was regarded as one of the District’s top performers and received the Chief Facilities Executive Award for Excellence. In late 2010, Anthony was presented with Los Angeles Unified School District’s Distinguished Bell Award for his exceptional service and dedication to advancing the District’s goals.

Anthony is an active member of various industry organizations. These include the Construction Management Association of America, the Design Build Institute of America, the California Association of Latino Superintendents, and the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
