Construction Teams Broke Ground on New 613-Room Westin Resort in Southern California
Anaheim, Calif. – Oct. 4, 2017 – Construction teams recently broke ground on Marriott International’s first newly built Westin-branded resort in Southern California in more than 25 years.
Slated for occupancy in 2019, Cumming, an international construction consultancy, is providing cost, scheduling and project management services on behalf of Wincome Group, a well-known local real estate investment, development, and management firm.
The Westin Anaheim Resort will be directly adjacent to the Anaheim Convention Center (ACC), which is currently undergoing a $245 million-dollar expansion. The 7-story hotel will feature 613 guestrooms, including 101 suites, as well as three restaurants, two bars, a rooftop lounge that will overlook the nightly Disneyland Resort fireworks, a state-of-the-art fitness center, a resort-style pool surrounded by tropical landscaping, and a convenient marketplace for hotel guests.
To cater to the city’s growing demand for meeting and corporate event venues, the hotel will also feature 11 meeting rooms totaling 42,000 square feet of customizable and high-tech meeting space, including a 16,000-square-foot grand ballroom.
Experts in complex hospitality project and cost management services, Cumming will be overseeing all construction phases for the Westin Anaheim Resort to make sure the project stays within budget and adheres to the timeline established by the developer.
