Cumming Awarded Construction Management Services for California State University, San Marcos
New Student Health & Counseling Services Building to Break Ground Summer 2013
SAN DIEGO – (March 21, 2013) – Cumming, an international project management and cost consulting firm headquartered in San Diego, announced today it will be providing construction management services for the new 20,000-square-foot California State University, San Marcos Student Health & Counseling Services Building.
In October 2012, Cumming, in association with fs3|Hodges, was selected as one of two approved Construction Managers to provide as-needed services on future worked planned for the San Marcos campus over the next three to five years. The new Student Health & Counseling Services Building is Cumming’s first assigned project to be competitively awarded.

Slated to break ground on campus this coming June, the proposed two-story building will include student examination rooms, medical offices, counseling spaces as well as provide a home base for the Health and Wellness program. Seeking LEED Gold certification at completion, the Student Health & Counseling Services Building will meet all campus requirements for sustainable design.
Cumming’s teaming partner, Fred Saldana of fs3 PM/CM, is serving as the on-the-ground project manager overseeing all project operations and development from design to occupancy. Fred will be supported by Cumming’s San Diego-based team. C.W. Driver is serving as the project’s Design/Builder with its design partner, HMC Architects.
