A26 Glarryford to A44 Drones Road Dualling
Cumming Group provided Cost Management services for the A26 Glarryford to A44 (Drones Road) Dualling Scheme — a key section of the Northern Key Transport Corridor linking Belfast with Antrim, Ballymena, Ballymoney, Coleraine, Limavady and Derry City. The route carries over 18,000 vehicles per day and is of strategic importance to Northern Ireland’s transport network.
The project involved online widening of a 7.7km single carriageway to dual carriageway standard, including complex works to bypass the Frosses Trees and cross the River Clough, both of which required careful consideration of significant environmental sensitivities.
The works comprised:
• Three compact grade-separated junctions
• Three overbridges and two underbridges
• Two river structures and 35 culverts
• A 100-space car park facility
Our role included cost planning and optioneering, risk management, procurement management, construction phase cost management, and NEC contract support to the Project Manager, ensuring value and efficiency throughout delivery.
