Bristol Temple Meads Building Fabric Refurbishment
Cumming Group provided Cost Management and advisory services for the Bristol Temple Meads Station Refurbishment, a flagship project for Network Rail’s Wales and Western region.
The project involves structural and cosmetic repairs to the historic Grade I listed building, requiring the construction of a complex 134m-long, 5,000m² temporary works deck above live rail lines and platforms to enable safe delivery of works while keeping the station fully operational.
The scope of repairs includes:
- Replacement of all main shed and canopy glazing
- Removal of existing paint systems
- Repair of structural defects
- Replacement of timberwork
- Repainting of the structure
These works preserve the heritage and functionality of this key regional rail hub while ensuring safe and efficient ongoing rail operations.
