Cumming Group’s role for this project was to produce a due diligence report addressing the proposed scope of work and budget, and highlighting potential risks and mitigation options. The project includes converting the entire 2,500,000-sq.-ft. Old Main Post Office, which has long been vacant, into a ‘white box’ in order to attract potential commercial sector tenants. The building’s extensive renovations will involve a complete demolition of the interior, the installation of all-new MEP and life safety systems to meet current codes, total window replacement, the installation of a new roof, and major elevator system upgrades.
