Coed Darcy Urban Village
Cumming Group acted as project and cost manager, employer’s agent, contract administrator, and principal designer on the landmark Coed Darcy Urban Village development in Neath Port Talbot.
Situated on the former BP Llandarcy Oil Refinery site, which was decommissioned in the 1990s, Coed Darcy is being transformed into a sustainable community of 4,000 traditionally styled Welsh homes, offering living opportunities for more than 10,000 residents. The development will include a range of facilities, such as retail, leisure, sports, and community spaces, along with extensive green open areas.
To date, the ongoing 20-year project has included an extensive remediation programme, onsite drainage and infrastructure works, an offsite link road, and motorway junction improvements to support the delivery of 300 residential units, with more to follow. Prior to the commencement of the build phases, we worked closely with The Princes Foundation and the Town Architect to establish a design brief that balances affordability with sustainability.
