The Dawson Park Improvement Project involved the much-anticipated renovation of this historically significant, 2.25-acre gathering place for the African American Community in the Boise-Eliot neighborhood of Portland. Cumming Group was contracted to provide construction management for Prosper Portland (PP) and Portland Parks & Recreation (PPR). Due to the nature of this landmark project, Cumming Group, PP, PP&R, and the design team implemented various forms of outreach to engage the community, including workshops, open houses, presentations to neighborhood associations, and door-to-door meetings to affirm the proposed park improvements. The project had 89% minority participation.

Serving as an integral member of the team, Cumming Group worked directly with PP, PP&R, and community stakeholders to provide guidance and leadership throughout all project phases.
