ESB Headquarters
Cumming Group were appointed to manage the redevelopment of ESB’s historic headquarters, overseeing the demolition, base build, across two new buildings totalling 360,000 sq.ft. and workplace fit-out for the ESB HQ at Fitzwilliam 27 – 180,000sq. ft. The project delivered a sustainable, high-performance workplace that aligns with ESB’s energy efficiency and employee well-being goals, seamlessly integrating into Dublin’s Georgian streetscape. A workplace strategy was developed and was key to ensuring alignment with ESB’s evolving business needs.
Project management included design and construction management included the transitioning from “grey box” to a fully integrated Cat A & B fit-out, including front-of-house finishes, MEP, lifts, high spec AV, event spaces, exercise rooms, catering facilities, and outdoor terraces. Managed the input from the Executive Board, senior management, and employees while coordinating Gate sign-offs. Overseeing the temporary relocation of 1,100 staff to a 120,000sq. ft. office. Base Build & Fit-Out Integration required managing early construction access to align construction and fit-out programmes for seamless project delivery. Sustainability & Smart Building Features were Incorporating rainwater harvesting, biophilic design, openable windows, and leading energy-efficiency technologies achieving BREEAM Excellent accreditation.
