Hôtel CITIZEN M
This site is the first CITIZEN M in Dublin. The hotel is being built on a former cathedral site. The development consists of 10 floors over a basement. There is a famous architect’s “Stephenson” façade which requires retention and integration into the works. The hotel is designed to be fully modular and modular contractor engaged. The CITIZEN M Hotel is situated in Dublin City Centre in what was formerly known as Molyneux house. The development will consist of a 247 bedroom hotel with retention of key historical and heritage elements on the site which is being developed by Citizen M owner / developer.
The CITIZEN M hotel is first of its kind in Dublin where innovation and technology are the main selling point. Citizen M’s goal is to try and reinvent the hotel to offer an affordable experience which offer a small café, food and drink area and a living room concept on the ground floor. The planning grant on the project was complex and resolved through the ABP that was linked to site acquisition. The construction works on the project was procured through negotiate tender where Lafferty played a key role in negotiations ensuring that the project was viable for the client. Lafferty were engaged by the developer to demolish the existing building on the site whilst retaining the Stephenson facade without the aid of the main contractor, de-risk the site of significant heritage, (Stephenson Façade Retention), and manage and co-ordinate archaeological finds Cumming Group undertook the development manager / project manager / contract administrator role on this project
