The State of California is providing resources to improve the health of all public K-12 students and ensure they have a healthy environment in which to learn, play, and grow. The California Schools Healthy Air, Plumbing, and Efficiency Program (CalSHAPE) was formed to provide funding to repair and improve HVAC systems and upgrade plumbing fixtures in K-12 public schools.
Program Benefits
CalSHAPE includes two grant programs, CalSHAPE Plumbing and CalSHAPE Ventilation, for eligible parties within the service territories of the large electric and natural gas utilities in California. The program provides funds to assess, adjust, repair, or upgrade heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems to improve air quality and ventilation to reduce the spread of COVID-19. An additional 20% in grant funds can be requested for more significant HVAC repairs and maintenance projects. The plumbing program allows districts to upgrade and replace components of plumbing systems in schools.
Navigating the Process
Cumming’s team of experts plays a vital role in moving your CalSHAPE projects forward. We do this by preparing all documentation required for the submission of your application, overseeing the procurement of a qualified HVAC contractor, and completing your HVAC Assessment and Verification reports. By navigating this process on your behalf, as we do for numerous K-12 clients throughout the State, we can help your district obtain funding with minimal effort from your staff.
