Managing Principal from Cumming to Release Second Construction Management Book, to Speak At National CMAA Conference

SAN DIEGO – (Oct. 10, 2014) – Cumming, an international project management and cost consulting firm, announced today that Managing Principal Lisa Sachs, along with coauthor and MIG founder Daniel Iacofano, will release What is Your Construction Management Emotional Quotient?, at the 2014 CMAA National Conference & Trade Show in San Francisco this month.

What is Your Construction Management EQ? is a unique, step-by-step guide developed to help professionals learn how to effectively communicate in a collaborative construction environment in order to achieve complete project success. The book aims to elevate the reader’s emotional quotient by examining the complexities of emotional intelligence through the lens of construction management. Using a humorous, no-nonsense approach, Sachs and Iacofano draw on shared experiences to provide insights that will benefit both entry-level and seasoned construction management professionals.

Sachs and Iacofano will be presenting at this year’s CMAA National Conference & Trade Show, discussing topics from the soon-to-be released What is Your Construction Management EQ?. The session will be held at the Marriott Marquis in San Francisco on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at 11 a.m. PST. The educational presentation will focus on the importance of emotional intelligence and be targeted towards construction managers, owners, project managers, engineers, architects, contractors, and others interested in continuing to develop their leadership skills and communication competence.

Sachs, who graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design, is a Fellow with the American Institute of Architects and a Certified Construction Manager. She is an award-winning program, project, and construction management professional whose first book, entitled What is Your Construction Management IQ?, was published in 2011.

Iacofano received his Ph.D. in Environmental Planning from the University of California, Berkeley and is the author of several books, including Meeting of the Minds and The Inclusive City.
