San Jose State University (SJSU) replaced its outdated aquatic and recreation centers with the new Spartan Recreation and Aquatic Center. Using a design-build delivery method, the project involved demolishing the old aquatic center and consolidating both facilities into a single 128,000-square-foot building. The new center includes two outdoor pools, an indoor running track, three full courts for basketball, volleyball, and badminton, and a climbing wall. Additionally, the facility offers five workout spaces, four fitness studios, team and community locker rooms, and offices for coaches and staff. Cumming Group provided owner’s representative services, overseeing project delivery and ensuring it met the University’s needs and budget.
