Cumming Group was hired by Clackamas Community College to serve as Owner’s Representative during construction. The 44,000-sq.-ft. facility features expanded teaching, training, and partner spaces; large bays for machinery; high-bay space to accommodate specialized equipment for industrial technology; computer labs; informal learning and study spaces; general classrooms; and industry partner space. The Renewable Energy Technology Lab opens to an exterior covered workspace. The flex lab contains a range of robotics and trainers, and the high bay shop spaces are connected to classrooms to support learning.

The project also includes the redesign of the adjacent 120-car parking lot, a new entry plaza, improved pedestrian access, and a better connection to the pedestrian path leading to the adjacent high school.

The $28 million project was funded through a voter-approved bond as well as $8 million in matching funds from the State of Oregon.
