Cumming Group is currently leading the phased expansion of the existing Emergency Department, increasing the current space (~12,000 sq. ft., 14 curtain bays, five semi-private rooms and seven bay Rapid evaluation units) to achieve approximately 22,500 sq. ft., including 33 treatment rooms that all required support services.

This complex operation requires consistent communication between both the project team and hospital staff to ensure operations are minimally impacted during construction. The project is being completed in five phases by creating a new decanting space on the second floor and selectively demolishing certain areas of the ED department while establishing the new, expanded portion of the ED in the latter phases of the project.
