Cumming Group is currently providing comprehensive scheduling services for this confidential technology client’s new data center projects in Des Moines, Iowa, aimed at supporting the client’s growing cloud infrastructure. Construction began in 2023, with completion scheduled for 2025. The Cumming Group team was tasked with managing the complex scheduling needs for all three sites to ensure timely delivery and seamless coordination between various project stakeholders.

Several challenges arose during the construction process, including a lack of Vendor FSR (Field Service Representative) support and ongoing supply chain shortages, which posed potential risks to the project timeline and budget. Cumming Group’s scheduling team played a pivotal role in mitigating these issues by proactively managing timelines and adjusting schedules as necessary. Working closely with the General Contractor, the team ensured that project milestones were met, helping to minimize delays and avoid disruptions.

In addition to the work in Des Moines, Cumming Group has been a trusted partner for the client’s data center projects nationwide and remains the largest scheduling provider for the client’s U.S. data center delivery team.Cumming Group provided cost management services for the construction of Prime Data Centers’ new hyperscale data center in Vernon, California. This state-of-the-art facility, which will offer 33 megawatts of critical capacity, is an essential addition to the expanding data infrastructure in the Los Angeles area.

Cumming Group’s role includes full cost management to ensure Prime Data Centers maintains full visibility over costs at every stage, helping prevent overspending while driving project efficiency. Initial service included an independent review of the Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP). Upon award of the GMP, Cumming Group has been providing pay application review, ensuring that payments to contractors are accurate and aligned with the work completed. Cumming Group also manages change orders, carefully assessing, and documenting any adjustments to the scope of work to avoid cost overruns. Additionally, Cumming Group is providing regular cost reporting to track expenditures and maintain financial control throughout the project. The general contractor for the project is Clune Construction, with HKS serving as the project architect.
