Serving as the University’s Representative, the Cumming Group team facilitated site selection, the RFQ/RFP process for selection of the design-build team, and managed all aspects of design, construction and closeout for this 61,500-sq.-ft. LEED Gold facility. The completed 4-story, 200-bed residence hall includes an array of amenities including lounges, kitchens, study areas, laundry areas, community stairs, office space, two apartments, open function spaces, one and two-occupancy bedrooms, and four-occupancy semi-suites. The site includes an open courtyard garden with covered patio areas and an indoor/outdoor see-through fireplace and pedestrian paths linking the exterior areas to adjacent campus zones. Sustainable features included an integrated roof runoff with site planters as well as a highly efficient building envelope and mechanical and electrical systems.
