Cumming was the project manager for this new $36 million, 432- bed student housing building, which achieved LEED Platinum certification upon its completion in June 2012. The building includes 10 staff living quarters and four large learning areas with classrooms, science labs, a media center, academy arts, a demonstration kitchen, administration space, a library, a multi-purpose room, and a new central plant. During site grading approximately 20,000 tons of lead-impacted soil was discovered. Through Cumming’s efforts, these potentially hazardous materials were successfully mitigated for a fraction of the estimated cost.
