Cumming Group managed the development of the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District’s Districtwide Plan for Sustainability, collaborating with the Board of Education, facilities staff, educators, students, parents, and community members. The year-long plan development process consisted of three main phases: Community Engagement, Sustainability Assessment, and Plan Development. As a result of the SMMUSD Plan, the District received a prestigious “Sustainable Quality Award for Excellence” from the City of Santa Monica at the 2019 awards ceremony.
