Cumming Group’s national healthcare team provided comprehensive design phase estimating on behalf of St. Joseph Health System for the new $225 million Northwest Tower at St. Jude Medical Center. Multiple estimates were developed over the course of several months on all costs associated with the 200,000-sq.-ft., four-story building, as well as the associated 14,000-sq.-ft. central plant, connector bridge, and parking garage.

St. Jude’s new Northwest Tower offers one of the most advanced surgical facilities in the region. Features include 14 state-of-the-art surgical suites; California’s first neurosurgical suite that combines intraoperative MRI with leading navigation and information capabilities, resulting in a highly precise GPS system inside the brain; unprecedented flexibility for physicians to move seamlessly from minimally-invasive interventions to open heart surgery; smart rooms that automatically record and wirelessly convey vital signs and other information to a patient’s electronic medical record; and a thoughtfully designed healing garden for those receiving care.
