Portland, OR – Earlier today, Cumming announced that it has taken the final step in its phased mergers with Portland-based PlanB Consultancy and inici Group. PlanB joined Cumming in July 2020 and inici Group in February 2021. Both groups have been operating as independent subsidiaries of Cumming Management Group, Inc. since coming on board, during which time the teams have worked to merge all back-of-house operations and systems to enhance the services available for clients.
PlanB Consultancy was established in Oregon in 2006. They have earned a strong reputation for their delivery of superior cost and project management services on a wide range of public and private sector projects, most notably for a leading microchip manufacturer. They also maintain a strong portfolio of work for various public agencies for assignments involving courthouses, justice facilities, public safety buildings, public works facilities, and colleges and universities.

inici Group was founded in 1999 by Karl Schulz, a trained architect who has earned a reputation for a proactive and ethical approach to project management, with a 30-year track record of delivering projects on-time and on-budget. The highly respected consulting practice provides owner representation and project management services on a variety of iconic public and private projects, including college and university buildings, airport facilities and terminals, assisted living facilities, hospitals and healthcare facilities, convention centers, stadiums and arenas, and hotels. “Our success with our clients is based on managing to their interest first. As inici Group joins Cumming, we’re bolstering our ability to provide additional services including cost estimating and schedule controls while remaining agile to meet our client’s needs.”

Now operating under the Cumming name, the former PlanB and inici Group teams remain fully committed to each and every client in the region. The consolidated team will continue to be led and managed by Karl Schulz, Mark Toles, and Gerry Mulrooney from the former inici and PlanB groups, with executive support provided by Cumming’s Pacific Northwest lead, Kimberly McHugh.
The newly formed team is currently working out of offices in Lake Oswego and Portland. They will be consolidating operations in a new, expanded space in the Portland area later this year.
