Alyssa DeMartino
Business Development Associate – New York, NY

“I am so grateful to work with such a brilliant group of people, who play a major role in the construction of the most exciting and iconic buildings in the country.”

We are excited to announce the promotion of Alyssa DeMartino to Business Development Associate at Lehrer Cumming. Over the past two-and-a-half years, Alyssa has worked as an Executive Assistant in our New York office, during which time she has become an integral part of our team. We look forward to seeing what she can achieve in her new role!

How long have you been working in the construction industry?

I have been working in the construction industry since February 2017, which was when I joined Lehrer as Gavin Middleton’s Executive Assistant. Since working as an Executive Assistant in construction, I’ve learned a great deal about the industry and am beyond excited to advance my career with the goal of further growing the success of Lehrer Cumming.

What brought you to Lehrer Cumming?

I joined Lehrer Cumming after deciding to make a career change from the fashion industry into a career in the real estate/ development industry. I can honestly say it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I am so grateful to work with such a brilliant group of people, who play a major role in the construction of the most exciting and iconic buildings in the country.

What advice would you give to those in the A/E/C industry?

Recognizing the parallel between our company’s expertise and the clients’ needs are essential in Business Development. The ability to properly connect and build trust within a client relationship is a process that requires time and dedication. Cultivating new business is never the same process as the one before, and so it is important to tailor each approach based on the client’s personality and needs.

What are some of your greatest accomplishments?

My greatest accomplishment has been the experience and knowledge that I’ve gained in the construction industry; an industry that was new to me before working for Lehrer Cumming. Having been involved in project meetings and developing relationships with decision makers, architects, engineers and of course with the Lehrer Cumming Project Management and Cost Management teams has been one of the most valuable takeaways in my professional career.
