Courtney Lindberg, ENV SP
Business Development Manager – Los Angeles, CA
“A piece of advice that I’ve carried with me throughout my career is that a business doesn’t need to be a “green” business in order to consider their impacts on the environment.”
We are excited to announce the promotion of Courtney Lindberg to Business Development Manager at Cumming. Previously a Project Manager for our Energy & Sustainability group, Courtney has become an important part of our team and we are excited about her new role in growing our energy and sustainability service line!
How long have you been working in the sustainabitlity industry?
I have been working in the sustainability industry for about 15 years. Before joining Cumming, I worked on the public side for about eight years with the City of Ventura, in the Environmental Sustainability Division.
What brought you to Cumming?
I believe the best consultants are those that have been on both sides of the table and can truly empathize with how the client feels and what their needs are. Coming from the public side for the last eight years, and having been a consultant before that to NASA Johnson Space Center, I understand what the specific energy and sustainability needs are for a wide variety of clients. Joining Cumming as a Business Development Manager in support of our energy and sustainability services is such an exciting opportunity. I am thrilled to expand our services nationally and look forward to working with our teams and seeing this important service line evolve and thrive.
What advice would you give to those in the A/E/C industry?
A piece of advice that I’ve carried with me throughout my career is that a business doesn’t need to be a “green” business in order to consider their impacts on the environment. Everyone uses electricity and water, everyone generates trash, and we all use some type of infrastructure — that’s life! It’s up to the user to decide how to use these resources wisely and to make the decision to lessen their negative impact on the environment. Whether it’s strategic pre-design planning, retrofitting, or complete refurbishment, we should consider environmental factors that take into account the economic, environmental, and social costs — what we call the triple bottom line. It just makes sense and I am excited to be part of a team to make those changes.
What are some of your greatest accomplishments?
I’m going to foreshadow my greatest accomplishment to be expanding our energy and sustainability services to each of our Cumming locations.
