Cumming’s Internship Program

Introducing Luke Picotte

How did you first learn about our intern program?

I heard about this program through Mike Jensen from the San Diego office.

How long have you been interning with us?

This is my second summer interning with Cumming. The first summer I was a cost intern and this second summer I have shifted to working with MEP, specifically the electrical team.

What exciting projects are you working on?

Exciting projects that I have worked on are the Morgan Stanley building in New York, Scripps Hospital in Encinitas, Mystic Lake Casino in Minnesota, and an airport in Honolulu. All have been quite different from one another and all have been great learning experiences.

What do you like most about your internship?

What I most like about the internship is the people I work with as well as the diversity of work that we get. Each project feels fresh as no two are alike. They all come with their own challenges and include a variety of teachable moments.

Do you have a vision of where you will be in 5 years? If so, explain.

In five years, I would love to be working with Cumming if given the opportunity, because I feel that I am a great match for the culture here. I also enjoy working with the team here as they are all so knowledgeable and hard working. Hopefully by then I’ll be a Senior Cost Manager but I know that it will be hard work to get there.
