Join us in welcoming Sylvia Beaulieu to our Boston team! She will be responsible for acquiring new clients and helping to drive revenue growth in the Boston life sciences sector. Welcome Sylvia!

How long have you been working in the construction industry?

I have been in the A/E/C industry for 30 years.

What brought you to Fort Point?

I have known Christine and Steve for over 10 years, and I admire their strength in the way they manage and grow Fort Point. I am fairly new to the owner representative side of things and I look forward to learning more from their experience and from the services that Cumming now brings to Fort Point.

What advice would you give to those in the AEC industry?

Network, network, network. I have been able to find all my jobs via my network. During COVID, my network helped me connect with new decision-makers, which in turn helped me grow my previous employer’s portfolio of projects and clients. Also, try to focus on a specific market. For many years I was the only woman in business development for construction that focused specifically on the life science sector. This helped me and my employers immensely by giving me access and information more rapidly through the strength of my connections in a specific market sector.

What are some of your greatest accomplishments?

My volunteering with charitable organizations and involvement with various committees.  I am the Vice Chair of the Boston Chapter of Women In Bio. I am on the planning committee of Bio-Ball, a one-day basketball tournament involving 16 local biotech and pharma companies and 16 Special Olympics basketball teams, which has raised more than $2.1 million for Special Olympics Massachusetts over the past 15 years. I was one of the founders (and am now co-Chair) of a charity event called Battle of the Biotech Bands, which has raised more than $600,000 for various charities over the last eight years. I am a co-Chair of FRAXA Biotech Games, which has raised over $100,000 in the past two years for Fragile X research. I also enjoy volunteering my time to local charities including CASPAR Shelter, Cradles to Crayons, and Food for Free.
