What achievements are you most proud of?
During my time at a renowned architecture and design firm, I led many key pursuits, but the most memorable was for the NYC Health + Hospitals, Coney Island Hospital RFP. After Superstorm Sandy, the hospital was in dire need of renovations and expansion to support the growing needs of the neighborhood and greater community. Our pursuit team brainstormed and worked tirelessly together (while having fun!) to understand the needs of the hospital to create a unique proposal. In the end, the firm won the largest New York City public healthcare construction project at the time. This year, the new 11-story tower is scheduled to open, and I am looking forward to visiting this project, as it will be transformational for the community, patients, and staff.
In addition, I had the opportunity to spend 3 months in the Shanghai office to support marketing and BD initiatives. This experience allowed me to partner with key leaders and learn more about the international market. During that same year, I was selected to participate in a travel program called “Oregano” that brings together a small group of colleagues across the firm to travel to a destination together. Our group had the honor of going to New Zealand where we formed long lasting relationships and brought back design and architectural inspirations to share with the firm. I am thankful to have had these opportunities which have influenced my career in more ways than I could have imagined.
Although these are accomplishments that I am proud of, I am primarily grateful for the many client and industry relationships I have developed throughout my career. I enjoy building trusting relationships and I am very excited to see where the next phase of my career brings me at Lehrer Cumming.
Who is most influential to you?
The most influential person to me is my grandmother who has shown me that hard work and dedication pays dividends. Now, as she is about to turn 90, she continues to inspire me every day through her tenacity and strength and reminds me to not let a day go by without being productive. I am thankful for our time together and her unconditional love to living life to the fullest.
