WOMEN IN CONSTRUCTION WEEK
Lauren Janowsky, Assistant Project Manager
“One of my all-time favorite quotes that I always carry with me is: “The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away.” – William Shakespeare
How long have you been in the AEC community?
I have been working in project management full-time for a year and a half; however, my interest and involvement started years ago.
Who inspires you?
Someone who inspires me is a past college professor in my university’s construction management department. Through the years, we developed a close relationship where she shared her experiences in the industry and always checked in and supported my ambitions. She was the backbone to helping myself and a few other peers develop the Women in Construction club for our school, and was a great mentor to myself through college, and even post-graduation. This professor has played a part in being one of my inspirations for connecting with other women within the company to get a group like Women of CCorp organized.
What is your personal goal with being on this committee?
My personal goal with being on this committee is, “Get ahead – do not stay afloat.” Having the opportunity to connect and work with some of the remarkable women within Cumming is an incredible benefit. I hope that through this journey we are able to provide a supportive environment to learn and grow as individuals, and ultimately produce a platform where others feel empowered, encouraged, and connected as Women of CCorp.
