The San Diego County Taxpayers Association is hosting a presentation on its Facilities Bond Certification Program on Saturday, March 29.

Industry experts will be discussing topics ranging from bond financing to facilities master planning. Instructors include Bill Rodgers, managing principal and senior economist from Cumming Corp.; Debbie Murray, director of education project management at Cumming; Courtney Jones, attorney and vice president of Jones Hall; Robert Kiesling, a former facilities manager; Nick Marinovich, a current school bond oversight committee member; and Dale Scott, president of Dale Scott & Co.

The seminar is intended to educate potential bond proponents, elected officials, public sector managers and local taxpayers on project management best practices and the financing of facilities bond programs.

“School bond financing and oversight is one of the more complicated issues in local government,” said Sean Karafin, interim president and CEO of the San Diego County Taxpayers Association. “This program is designed to help promote good decision making from school boards and improve oversight across the county.”

The program will be held at the San Diego Association of Realtors offices, 4845 Ronson Court in San Diego, from 7:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
